DocsUsing Buildability

Documents & certificates

Documents holds everything you take out of Buildability: your property reports, the memos and decks drafted from them, and certificates anyone can verify.

The Documents tab

Documents (in beta) has two shelves:

  • Property reports: every report you’ve bought. Each opens free.
  • Documents: memos, decks and area-screen memos, searchable by title. Each card shows what it’s made of: from the record, drafted, or by you.

Editing and sharing

  • Format with the toolbar or the usual keys (⌘B, ⌘I, ⌘U); ⌘F finds and replaces.
  • Version history keeps every save; restore any one.
  • Tick Certificate to add the parcel’s certificate as page one.
  • Share makes a read-only link that pins the current version and expires after 30 days.
  • Print prints or saves a PDF through your browser.

Certificates

  1. Generate

From a report, Export → Create certificate. Optionally present it as yours: your name and firm print on it, and the browser remembers them. Pick a document colour.

  2. Hand it over

The certificate carries its id (BC-, six characters of the parcel id, and the Score), a QR code and a verify link. Print it or save it as a PDF.

  3. Anyone verifies it

Scan the QR or enter the id at buildability.us/verify.

Certificates are free once you’ve bought a report. Re-issuing the same certificate is always free.

How verification works

/verify looks the id up in the certificate register, then recomputes the Score from the stored parcel record under the methodology version the certificate was issued with, and compares.

ResultMeans
Verified — this certificate is authenticRegistered, and the Score reproduces.
Score reproduces — but this isn’t a registered certificateThe number is right, but we never issued this certificate.
Score changed since issueRegistered, but the recomputed Score differs from the one printed.
Not foundNo certificate has this id, or it was revoked.

Verification recomputes from the record that was stored when the certificate was issued. It proves the certificate is ours and its number follows from that record; it doesn’t re-read today’s sources. To see today’s record, re-run the report.

Try it on the sample: /verify/demo.

Didn’t find it? The Help Center answers account and billing questions, and Geo answers questions about a specific parcel inside the app.
